I don’t disagree with you. I appreciate their mature, non-chaotic process.

That’s cool. Disagreeing without being disagreeable is more important at this point than agreeing. No one has a monopoly on truth; it’s just a big conversation. Sometimes I don’t agree with someone completely but they made me think about something differently and I grow from it.

I’m not claiming to “enlighten” anyone; I’m simply expressing my opinion. His priorities are good, but building and maintaining an emotional connection to the American people is absolutely necessary if the Dems are to win in 2022. Not an irrelevant topic.

And getting $2000 into their hands on a monthly basis is something many of us have been advocating for with great passion.

That’s not what I was saying at all! Nothing is more important than getting money into people’s hands.

Trump created & the Marjorie Taylor Greenes of the world are maintaining a very dangerous emotional connection with millions of people. In order to counter that, Dems have to create a similarly visceral connection to their own base. I don’t see pointing this out as “accusatory.”

I’m not saying it’s more important. But it’s struck a nerve & speaks to something extraordinary going on. Her seeming obliviousness to it or making it appear off topic makes the administration look like they’re in an ivory tower rather than on the ground w/ people where they live

More than half of Americans own stocks. Are you saying that this story doesn’t rise to the level of presidential attention?

Jen Psaki saying at press conference yesterday that Biden economic team not addressing Robin Hood issue because his team is working on what really matters to the American people, which is Covid relief bill, makes both her & him seem incredibly out of touch with what’s happening.

Great thread. I’d add the military industrial complex, fossil fuel companies, health insurance companies et al for sucking us dry of public treasury, opportunity and safety. And DNC corporatists for depriving the Democratic Party of any ability to respond above a whimper.

The bill does not even call for $2000 in direct cash relief; it calls for $1400. And this isn’t about blaming anyone; it’s about recognizing the political fallout this has among people who had lost faith in the Democratic Party and voted Dem thus time hoping for immediate help.

Ending contracts with private prisons needs to extend to ICE facilities as well.
This time last year, more than 80 percent of people detained by ICE were in facilities run by private prison companies. No one should profit off the misery caused by immigration detention. washingtonpost.com/opinions/…
