This is it right here. Ground zero for how they leave out the voices of the people. @RepKatiePorter should be on that committee. #PutBackKatie washingtonpost.com/opinions/…

So much intelligence gathered, inadequately shared, inadequately acted on. Shades of 9/11. DHS does more harm than good; we should abolish it. washingtonpost.com/politics/…

Mess with the Capitol, we’ll see what happens. But you mess with Chevron, they’re coming after you hard. #FreeStevenDonziger
Robert Packer—who celebrated the mass murder of 1m people at Auschwitz—was released with no bond after violently storming the Capitol. I've been under pre-trial house arrest for 17 months after winning a pollution case against Chevron. Again: What are U.S. courts protecting?

Tiffany Cross and Jason Johnson had an important conversation about white supremacist infiltration of police forces on MSNBC this morning. It was short but they got to the point.

It’s radical to put humanity’s safety & well-being before corporate dollars. Its radical to make eradicating unnecessary suffering a stated policy goal. It’s radical to make cultivating peace the center of public policy. That’s exactly what we need now: a radical humanitarianism.

"There are these things called Kairos moments where God intercepts time...there is a force in our universe that works towards what's right and what's just. No matter how dark it gets there will be a breakthrough, a daybreak.” My interview with @BerniceKing apple.co/2MXGAhm

What I would propose is reparations, but I don’t expect Biden to do that. He could start by saying that his administration is going to tackle three major areas of systemic racism: mass incarceration and the criminal justice system, economic disparity, and police brutality.

I hope the next big announcement Biden makes will center on race. His early pronouncements signal priorities and now that he’s talked about Covid and the economy, issues of racial inequality should be next. If ever there was an area where small steps is not enough, it’s this one.

There’s a big difference between corporate tax cut and the middle class tax cut. We should repeal the 2017 $2 Trillion tax cut where 83% of every dollar went to the richest corporations and individuals. But we should definitely put right back in the middle class cuts!

Yes! We need a Peace Academy just like we have a War Academy. Here’s a plan: marianne2020.com/issues/us-d…

5/ Last night Kellyanne Conway was on Bill Maher and she said we need to remember all the wonderful things that Trump did. She said a primary example is that the corporate tax rate dropped from 35% to 23%! Whoah...there are two starkly different visions of what America should be.

4/ In one elementary school in Nevada the children had been told there was a presidential candidate coming to visit and they could ask questions. They were totally adorable, very well mannered, and one of them asked, “If you win, does that mean you could help us?”

3/ My most painful memory from the campaign trail was how many elementary school principals told me they have students on suicide watch. If I could have any wish I’d have every American just think for a minute what that means...

2/This is particularly tragic in the area of children. When I campaigned I met so many extraordinary childhood experts who do amazing work. But even when they reported success I’d ask how many kids in the district who need the help get it, and the answer was almost always “10 %.”
