.@marwilliamson on this week’s @AmpedUpPodcast:
“When I ran for president I saw how the system operates...and the lengths that the Democratic party will go to to nullify any voices who are willing to challenge the corporate forces that make all of this suffering inevitable.”
Wouldn't it be fantastic for the 2022 Florida Senate race to be about ideas, not a battle between lesser evils competing on conservative talking points?
One of the worst things about extreme income inequality is how many people don’t see enough of other people’s circumstances. It’s too easy to dissociate from the reality of someone else’s life if you never see them and never know them. Empathy decreases and numbness takes over.
We went from cancelling all student debt to cancelling just 50 grand to now just 10 with Democrats in control of the House, the Senate, and White House. LOL
This is what I mean about how Americans have been trained to expect too little. Compared to other countries, the attitude of our government towards the average American is full on societal neglect.
On this week’s @AmpedUpPodcast I spoke with @MarWilliamson about what she’d like to see @JoeBiden do in his first 100 days.
We also had a spirited debate about socialism vs. capitalism and whether progressives need to form a new party.
Episode out now on all major podcast apps.
This is what we have to contend with. Even when we elect great people they’re often peripheralized by the corporatist establishment. We have to know about it and yell about it. Stay strong, @RepKatiePorter! downwithtyranny.com/post/pel…
"That is not an exaggeration. That is literally true. If you send Jon and Reverand to Washington, We will send you $2000 checks". - Joe Biden

This is a brilliant take on what’s happening now. “I see then that this is both a very dark time and, potentially, a very bright time. It's important to hold these truths together.”

.@JoeBiden said in his speech yesterday that no American working 40 hours a week should live in poverty. May it be so. The very fact that he said it is important, and it’s up to We the People to monitor the progress of the administration to make sure they make good on his word.
American politics is this weird place where a request for our “inalienable rights to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness” is often treated like the entitled demands of a spoiled brat or crazy radical. Case in point: a hungry child cannot pursue happiness.
