This isn’t just about Trump. It’s also about an unexplainable lack of serious security at the Capitol on a day when anyone would have known that it was at least conceivably more vulnerable. We’ve known about this rally for weeks & its organizers were open about planning to storm.

Whether it’s the 25th amendment or Articles of Impeachment, if the US government doesn’t do something tomorrow morning to remove this man from office then they themselves are complicit in one of the greatest dangers to ever confront our democracy.

No one is excusing white supremacy. Authoritarian dictators always scapegoat people, and white supremacy in the United States has been a bulwark of the authoritarian streak in our national character.

Not at all. Scapegoating/racism/white supremacy/ are always a part of the authoritarian mindset. Hitler had it out for Jews, Blacks, gay people and gypsies. Just like the skinheads today, there’s this “master race” insanity that is always present there.

It’s not “paying people to not be white supremacists.” It’s providing people with economic justice, among other things making them less vulnerable to ideological capture by genuinely psychotic forces.
