Profoundly true.
In 2021 we can’t act as if Trump was an anomaly. He is the symptom of a failed establishment—one that neglected the pain of everyday people and ignored the much needed work to address our nation’s collective history. Ignoring this will only pave the way for future demagogues.

Anger is like the white sugar of political activism; it gives you an adrenaline high but then you’ll crash. What we need is nourishment for the long-haul: laughter at the ridiculousness of it all and love for the possibilities that could be.

There’s a rambunctiousness necessary in order to be a conscious citizen today, a refusal to buy into the sanitized, corporatized, monopolized communications by which a political establishment exploits the masses. #DisruptHappily

He did. The president will be president for the next four years. Congressional leadership will be determined in the next few weeks. I can walk and chew gum at the same time, can’t you?

From #DirectCashRelief$2k to #Medicare4All, a progressive agenda is supported by a majority of Americans. Progressives in Congress should do everything possible to rid themselves of leadership that stands in the way of that agenda. Those who support the party should insist on it.

Neither major political party is an adequate container for energies seeking to emerge now. Corrupted by corporate money’s control, neither sets an agenda for a seriously sustainable future. Their chokehold on our political system diminishes our prospects for a survivable century.
