But unfortunately it’s not. What we need is a Constitutional Amendment establishing public funding for federal campaigns. But that would take a constitutional convention; most statehouses are Republican & would not support calling the Convention. That’s why #StateElectionsMatter

The undue influence of money on our political system is the cancer underlying all the other cancers. It creates problems and obstructs solutions.

Quite a few do, actually. Definitely Bernie!

Think about the size of BLM protests all over the country. Then compare their influence on legislation compared to influence of a few phone calls & clinking champagne glasses with military defense contractors. We’ll never get this country back til we get the money out of politics

According to Dec of Ind, govt “derives its just power from the consent of the governed.” Not now. The money is so loud in DC that leaders derive their power from consent of the donor class - corporations & rich individuals who w/ their $ have the power to make & break politicians

My favorite thing about you is that you engage back. It’s like a dinner party in the middle of the night with people you don’t know.

I have no “weird ableism.” I have no ableism at all. It’s up there with “she told AIDS patients not to take the medicine.” Nada.

“Good politics.”
Good politics: Over the past decade, every Medicare for All co-sponsor up for re-election beat their Republican opponent – every single one. Good policy: Medicare for All would save 68,000 lives and cost $650 billion LESS than our current dysfunctional healthcare system a year.
