No. they. did. not. I know they did not because it never happened. EVER. I bought medicine for people. I drove people to the doctor. No one ever ever heard me tell them not to take their AZT. Ever. There is nothing in my belief system or in my heart that would lead me to do that.

Except that I have not done what you are accusing me of doing and therefore I cannot accept responsibility for it. I have certainly made personal mistakes in my life but they are nothing that you have mentioned. Nothing is “documented in my books” that I need apologize for.

When the AIDS crisis occurred, there WAS no medicine. There was no cure. We used to pray for one. And when something called AZT came out we were all ecstatic.

Telling someone they’ve done harm to people is a very big accusation. When someone’s tried in a court of law there are rules of due process. Defendants present their own witnesses, circumstantial evidence is thrown out etc. But anyone can say anything in the media .. and they do.

People who had experiences with me that were bad in the past were people who said I was a bitchy boss at times, which I think is true. But no one who had AIDS or any other illness has come forth and said that I was anything but helpful to them at their time of crisis. Not one.

I absolutely am not going to “accept responsibility” for harm that I did not do! And telling a woman standing up for herself when she is being smeared that for her to do so is “an ego trip” is unacceptable. Stop lying about me and I’ll stop clapping back.

but when it comes to me it is others not “responsible to reality.”

Bette Midler was very active during the AIDS crisis; she did much to help people. It was very moving. More than that, and contrary to the lies that have been spread, she was there at the time and knows who did and said what.

First of all, there were no meds!!! And I have never ever ever told a sick person to get off their meds. Nor would I ever.
