Very important to prosecute all those who tried to illegally undermine our democracy during this election & over the last 4 years. Only the fear of serious jail time will keep them from spending the next four years planning to do it again & figuring out how to succeed next time.

Is he going to get fired?

The opposite. Police “armed to the teeth with military-grade weapons” is part of what’s causing rage, not addressing it.

Not only are people in DC out of touch with the suffering of everyday Americans; they’re out of touch with the rage they’re creating among them. Last time millions expressed their rage by electing the worst possible person to fix it. No one should assume they couldn’t do worse.

He is fooling no one. He is fully aware that there are those in Trump’s base just waiting for the word - the right code message - to stir them to acts of violence in their misguided perception they would be protecting rather than attacking our democracy.

Awful.
The fact that "no stimulus checks" is on this list shows the disconnect of the Senate with people on the ground. There may not be bipartisan support for an additional check, but there is support outside of Congress. 7 out of 10 want direct payments. news.gallup.com/poll/318452/…

Economists have convinced to at least try. Hungry children? Not so much...
A group of bipartisan legislators have proposed a new $908 billion COVID-19 relief bill. It includes some Democratic and Republican proposals in hopes that it will garner enough support from both sides of the aisle to pass before the end of the calendar year.

What is their resistance to #DirectCashRelief??? Other governments are doing it. It isn’t charity, it’s just responsible governance during an emergency. No time for all the middle measures when people and their kids are hungry. washingtonpost.com/us-policy…

Almost 250 yrs of slavery plus almost 100 yrs of segregation leaves Black America with a lot more than a need for charity, an apology or “race-based policies.” It leaves them with an IOU in their hands that America has yet to pay. #WhyReparations

One is cause; the other is consequence. Naming the consequence as the issue displaces responsibility.

Tens of millions of people in crippling despair over how they’ll pay rent and feed their families - leading to increased addiction, abuse and suicide - is not a mental health crisis. It’s a govt-that-doesn’t-give-a-damn crisis.
