This has nothing to do with the freedom of religion. The limits were not because of religious expression but because of health concerns, and only for as long as the danger lasted.

There is nothing anti-religious about politicians seeking to protect the health of their constituencies by limiting the number of congregants in a closed space during a pandemic; what’s anti-religious is to use God as an excuse for doing something that you know could harm people.

THREAD: We are alarmed that Biden's landing team for OIRA — a vital regulatory agency that will make or break his executive policy agenda — includes Bridget Dooling, a top researcher at the Koch and ExxonMobil-funded GWU Regulatory Studies Center. (1/x) thehill.com/homenews/adminis…

That you don't like me matters not at all; that you think that's my politics drives me nuts.

Calvinists were centuries ago. My father was taught and taught his kids to work hard & get a good education too. I don't want entitlement any more than you do. That's why corporate subsidies & tax cuts for the rich are so infuriating. THEY're who's taking the fruits of your labor

I absolutely have. I have traveled the world extensively and I deeply appreciate this country. But I'm not pretending to myself we're doing okay in ways we're not, or in denial about our problems.

I respect that you did. But my father grew up in poverty, went through the Depression and had the exact opposite response as you. He didn't want others to have to go through what he had gone through. He wanted it to be easier for others than it had been for him.

Enough with this "If it's harder for people it's better for people" nonsense. It's Calvinist philosophy left over from the 17th century and *really* needs to go.

A high school graduation certificate used to get someone a good-paying job in America. Today a college degree more often needed. If someone has a college degree they tend to make more $ and buy, which stimulates the economy. Which one of us is holding back America?

Calling for the overthrow of a democratically held election means you’re calling for a coup, but the word seems too blunt for some.

How can you say to someone working three jobs just to feed their kids that the problem is they're not working hard enough??

Personal responsibility is extremely important! But you can't say to millions of people living in a chronic state of economic anxiety, working at jobs they hate just to get benefits, constantly worried about health & edu for themselves & their kids, to just "take responsibility"

The public treasury belongs to the people. All the "free stuff" is going to the very richest corporations and individuals, who, by the way, know what chimps we are for allowing it.
