In the end it wasn’t government officials of either party who succeeded in putting a stop to his insanity; both parties, each in their own way, failed this moment spectacularly. It was voters - millions and millions and millions of voters - who finally said, “Enough is enough.”

So then the strategy is to criticize everything they do even before they’ve done it? What I want from a Treasury Secretary is immediate economic relief for tens of millions of people! Her words were “There is a huge amount of suffering out there. The economy needs the spending.”

The change is in the tax structure (returning to fair taxation for corporations and the very richest); the end to corporate subsidies; & appropriate safety, health, environmental and financial regulations.
