I agree entirely. Would have preferred @SenWarren but we knew that wasn’t going to happen. Treasury Secretary is a hugely important role and Janet Yellen is a good choice.
2 cheers for Janet Yellen at Treasury. She’s not @SenWarren but she’s not from the Street (in fact at the Fed she came down hard on Wells Fargo), and understands the huge toll stagnant wages, systemic racism, and widening inequality have taken on our economy and society.

No they don’t. What’s important here however is what we have in mind, and how we approach approach it will largely determine the influence that we have.

There’s a difference between being realistic and being pessimistic. We can realistically acknowledge circumstances as they are yet still leave space in our minds for the possibility that people will change and grow, particularly in the presence of moral persuasion.

The fundamental problem in the United States began in the 1980s, with trickle down economics and a serious perversion of tax laws in the direction of massive giveaways to the very richest.

One young black kid steals a backpack and he serves time; an entire political party tries to seal an election and we’re like “Well, we have to let the process play out…” This chapter of our history is showing us to ourselves in very important ways.

We need to start holding people accountable for ways they’re trying to steal an election & demolish our democracy. There are criminal acts involved here & they should be treated as such. It is nothing more than an effort to delegitimize our system. freep.com/story/opinion/cont…

Nobody is getting rich off 12K a year. It’s the corporate donor class that are vassals of the state.

Ever since the ‘80’s one of the main elements of a corporatist agenda has been to destroy the power of unions. Biden has a chance to start correcting that and he should do it immediately. theintercept.com/2020/11/21/…

It wasn’t so much that we didn’t support him as that we didn’t question him.

It’s neither. It’s a compensatory measure administered at a time when systematic economic injustice has fundamentally diminished the probability for tens of millions of people to fulfill their dreams.

Wait, guys. One thing about which all of us should be able to agree is that Mao killed a LOT of people.

Cutting health and safety regulations so corporations can make more money does not make people freer. It just creates more short term profit for a small group of people. And how can you say the Nazi comparison is ridiculous when so many Nazis are at his rallies? Read “On Tyranny”

No one person, president, or leader is going to save us. What’s going to save us is an uprising of conscience and responsible citizenship among many millions of people who are dedicated to love for all beings, the earth itself, and great great grandchildren we will never even see
