Thank you for mentioning this. When we were negotiating with the Taliban the U.S. demanded no provisions that would protect Afghani women, a point I tried to emphasize repeatedly. Trying to protect their safety in any was dismissed, even derided, on the Left as well as the Right.

Lose what? We just won an election! It’s not a personal fight, it’s an important determiner of direction going forward. It can’t be delayed because the decisions are being made now. Why is it that only progressives are told to slow down, take whatever they can get, stand in line?
