Like the 545 children who were separated from their parents and will probably never be able to reunite with them.

I remember not really wanting to go see Schindler’s List but feeling I had to in honor of my ancestors. I feel something similar tonight - remaining awake in honor of those who were genuinely victimized by the cruelty of this administration’s policies.

For years to come there will be much to analyze, and the work of repair will be long and hard, but I hope we never lose the emotional sobriety with which many people have only for the first time begun to approach politics. This itself was a much needed course-correction among us.

As we near the moment of knowing that this nightmare will be over, I’m not experiencing the giddy excitement I expected to feel. I feel more the shock of knowing how close we came to the demise of our democracy, and an almost tearful gratitude that we survived.

Americans have responded to his insanity with acts of courage and resistance both large and small. As we process the post traumatic stress he has thrown us into, we should remember how many millions of people responded to his hatred with love for each other and for our country.

After everything doctors, nurses & 1st responders have had to go thru w/ Covid, the work Postal workers & people at Secty of State offices & people counting the votes are doing & all the hoops people have had to jump through in order to vote, let’s never say America lacks heroes.

We’ve been living close to the cliff’s edge for so long, registering almost daily the various ways he represents a danger to our democracy, that the very thought we might be finally inching back from it is emotionally overwhelming.

The quote was the “dark psychic force of collectivized hatred.” If we had taken it more seriously at the time we might have a more sophisticated response to it by now.

I can’t decide if I think a lot of babies will be born nine months from tonight or if I think fewer babies than usual will be born nine months from tonight. Everyone handles stress differently 😏

He's talking now, saying that counting the votes is a form of fraud. We knew he was going to do this but still it's stunning to witness. And scary when you think of how many people are taking their "directions" from what he says.

The biggest story of this campaign - besides the obvious one -- is the political transformation of the South and Southwest. Earthquake.

American foreign policy in the Middle East has not been commendable, but Joe Biden has never been the one calling the shots. A man who is a menace the world is not the answer.
