What basis do the police have for removing PPE that people are handing out at a polling site? What are they shutting down next? Lemonade stands?
On the first day of early voting in Red Hook, @NYPD76Pct officers confronted community activists handing out PPE in front of an early polling site & then seized it. This is unacceptable, the NYPD must issue clear guidelines & not escalate situations at the polls.

American civics and government is absolutely that education. But 11 states don’t even require a half a year of civics or govt. If we don’t learn about the Bill of Rights as children we don’t know as adults to be horrified when it’s under assault.

I say often that to be a progressive in certain states takes so much character. So much willingness to go against the tide. I’ve been there and I’ve seen it. Those are the last people who should feel unsupported. And I come from Texas so I know it firsthand. Please stay in there!

I’d say this about the entire South. After he signed the Civil Rights Act LBJ said “We just lost the South for a generation.” But he didn’t say for 40 years! Dems should never have abandoned the South. There are amazing progressives everywhere in this country; they need support!!
Before y’all dump on Alabama, remember these folks live here, too. And they are fighting to make it better.

I’m not minimizing that! It’s an important truth. But it’s also true that you’re breathing toxic air, eating toxic food, drinking toxic water and in a lot of other ways are being harmed without your knowing. Your body is your property too.

The “truth?” Not. And the Trump administration isn’t even pretending they didn’t purposely separate those children as a way of deterring others from coming.
