Not surprising at all. “Let’s cover up all the evidence of how our irresponsible behavior caused so much destruction. It might remind people of what we did to the country.”

One of his most dastardly traits is he’s very good at figuring out people’s emotional hot buttons, the places where they really need help, and he speaks to them by saying he’s doing what he’s actually not doing to help. Pre-existing conditions, insulin etc khn.org/news/not-pandemic-pr…

“The additional 21 million metric tons of carbon dioxide per year that would result from ramping up production dwarfs Exxon’s projections for its own efforts to reduce pollution, such as deploying renewable energy & burying some carbon dioxide.” @SDonziger Https://www.bloomberg.com/ne…

I hope each of us can take a moment to reflect on how insane all this is.
Georgetown law has created fact sheets for every state on what to do if there are armed people (militia, unauthorized militia, LARPers, whatever) at polling stations on election day, and the laws for that state: law.georgetown.edu/icap/our-…

I spoke and wrote about it so much but found it disappointingly difficult to get people riled up. It has seemed to me like such an obvious disaster in the making.

With Amy Barrett confirmation hearings scheduled to begin on October 12, McConnell will find a way to discourage Republican senators from getting tested. The hearings themselves could then be a spreader event. @SenSchumer you’re on this right?

Important: every senator and Congressperson needs to get tested for Covid and should be required to tell us the results. If a significant number of one third of our government has contracted a potentially deadly virus then we have a right to know. I don’t trust them all to reveal

I supported Betsy Sweet. I looked into this and from what I understand it’s a complicated situation. This one is for Mainers to unravel.

Pragmatic solutions are important at times but they often only address symptoms & not their cause. If all we do is address the symptom of a problem it will simply morph into another one. Political conversation needs to expand into a more holistic understanding of how we got here.

CEOs go to business retreats that have meditation sessions; Harvard Med School school has conferences on integrative medicine; educators focus on “educating the whole child.” Politics is only corner of our society that holds onto a 20th-C mindset like it’s some superior quality.

So let’s do! #FlipTheSenate
We can provide everyone in America high-quality health care for a year—the kind of care Trump is getting right now—by taxing 60% of the wealth gains billionaires made in the last 6 months. I've introduced a bill with @EdMarkey and @SenGillibrand to do just that. Let's do it.
