I am no more leftist than I was during the campaign, but many were so invested in the stupid crystal lady orb dust thrown in their eyes that they wouldn’t listen to what I was saying. I’m the same person I was then and they came after me for that exact reason.
No matter what ethnic or religious group you belong to, if your ancestors aren’t screaming at you from deep inside your cells today then you have a very shallow understanding of who you are and why you’re here.
You’re right! And it’s extremely important that even those of us who don’t normally agree be willing to form alliances for the higher purpose of saving our democracy. I don’t usually see eye-to-eye with Bill Kristol, but these aren’t normal times.
Millions of women feel deep inside that if we express our deepest truth and passion they will call us crazy. And in fact they probably will! Lesson to be learned? Express it anyway.
Here’s the deal. He’s such a sociopath he honestly believes the government is “his.” So he honestly thinks that if you oppose him you are opposing the government. Rounding people up will seem to him - & to Barr - like simply the right thing to do. Black white rich poor - anyone.
Please watch this. It is not a rehearsal, it is not a joke. These people are absolutely serious and so must we be. If we do not deal with this now then we might not get another chance.
It is so past time to give up the “It could never happen here” canard - because it’s happening. And respectfully, @SpeakerPelosi, it is so much more than “sad.”
Speaker Pelosi just now on Trump's refusal to condemn white supremacists/Proud Boys: "Actually he's moved. In Charlottesville, we were disgusted when he said there are good people on both sides. This time he didn't even grant that to the other side. This was a very sad occasion."
This is what it would look like: First govt officials, then pretty much every professional category wd be asked to sign “loyalty oaths” where people swear not to participate in any activity “disloyal” to govt. Such action wd be considered seditious & make us liable to punishment.
We said he acted like Hitler & they said that’s hyperbole. Then we said some behavior was like concentration camps & they said that’s hyperbole. Now militia/illegal police actions r building a new Gestapo & they’ll say that’s hyperbole. The lesson to be learned? “They” are fools.
The good thing about the debate is that he made it so clear who he really is. During the first couple of minutes it looked like he might pull off seeming calm and rational but it didn’t stick. This way we get to see how very much is at stake. We cannot withstand four more years.
