No you don’t. Many on the left were very kind to me though it’s true that others weren’t. Let’s not kid ourselves: I wasn’t in a general campaign so the right had no reason to come after me yet. In my experience there are fair and unfair journalists on both sides of the aisle.

What you are leaving out is that in America today the government is a little more than handmaiden to corporate forces, an instrument of legalized bribery where short term corporate profit is given greater advocacy than the needs of the people. This is democracy versus corporatism

If you’re in the club, no system is better. But the system exists today in a way that keeps most people out of the club. And that’s wrong

I don’t think so. I appreciate capitalism. I just see that in the last 40 years a virulent strain has emerged, completely unfettered to any moral or ethical responsibility to people or planet. Do I think human concerns should come first? You betcha!

I’ll tell you what keeps them from it: lack of capital. How can you be a capitalist if you don’t have any access to capital? I assure you many of the poor in America have brilliant ideas yet no access to the resources to turn those ideas into a business. That’s what’s so unfair.

Nobody on the Left today is talking about “taking over somebody’s property.” That’s right wing propaganda to make it look like every leftist is a communist. It’s ridiculous. We’re simply talking about using the power of government to protect the common good & to serve the people.
