He blew the lid off. And yes, it’s because we let it get this bad.

2/ So what’s happening is a very cautionary tale. We don’t just have to wake up in a whole new way to fight off tyrannous forces in our midst; we’ll have to stay awake if we’re to guarantee they won’t reappear. Rarely have external events caused so much internal transformation.

1/ “You don’t know what you’ve got till it’s gone.” - Joni Mitchell. Many people admit how much they took for granted, how much basic freedom they felt was guaranteed & so we didn’t have to worry about. None of us thought any one man could do so much damage in such a short time.

I’m sorry you were teargassed, but what you’re leaving out of your description is how many thousands if not millions of people throughout history, including today, or as horrified as you are about it. And the Bill of Rights is what gives us whatever power we have to push back.

Perhaps you should try reading it.

If the story is true, you need more than for the sheriff to resign. I support what you’re doing and hope you will use this tragedy as an opportunity to make right a terrible wrong.

We must not look away. The whistleblower in this case was very brave, and without his drawing attention to what’s happening then the situation would never change. losangeleno.com/features/las…

He did not resist arrest; they did not even attempt to arrest him. That has been said by many witnesses. Even Trump does not dispute that.

This was an ambush and we should not excuse it. If we go down that road we are no better than the haters.

No I’m not. But violence like that should be denounced by any humane person; it should have nothing to do with Democrat or Republican, left or right. The one thing we should all come together about is a denunciation of violence.

This should not even have to be said, but anyone trying to murder anyone is evil. google.com/amp/s/www.bbc.com…

The problem is not that they searched for him, the problem is that they summarily executed him - and because the President said to! Trump said there needed to be “retribution.” That’s NOT our system of justice.

11 states don’t require 1/2 yr study in US civics, history or govt. Sheer ignorance of millions of Americans of basic tenets of US Constitution helped lead us here. If you don’t learn the Bill of Rights as a child you don’t know as an adult to be horrified when it’s under assault

That this is America, not North Korea. People are supposed to be arrested and stand trial here...not summarily executed by the police. Do you honestly not know that?

I don’t know what’s worse, that he says these things or that people actually cheer him when he does. Did these people never learn in school that in America we don’t do things like that? That when they happen it’s a bad thing, not a good thing? We want freedom, not a police state.

For the second consecutive day Trump seems to endorse extrajudicial killings by federal forces

I sure would have. What she said goes against every tenet of the Jewish religion - or of any religion for that matter. Not to mention the fact that it was so astonishingly ignorant. No, they didn't "just have to pick cotton." Good God.

That is ridiculous. No one is justifying rioting, destruction or murder. And it’s not “what’s happening under BLM.”
