Neither Medicare4All, free tuition at state colleges and universities, cancellation of college loan debt nor the Green New Deal are radical propositions. They are simply a realignment of public policy with an effort to help people thrive. What’s radical is the opposition to them.

.@Frances_Fisher is such a tireless champion for justice. She gets hold of an issue and will not let go. What an inspiring role model for all of us.

The corporatist forces that resist progressive change on the presidential level play out the same way in Congressional and Senate races. But with enough awareness we can override that.

It’s true. But this would be a different house and a different Senate, and one not deferring to the Democratic president the way they did then.

If Biden wins, will there still be a huge amount of work to do to course-correct this country? Absolutely! But it’s work we’ll have the chance to do, whereas in a second Trump term the opportunities for effective activism would be radically diminished. We cannot let that happen.

Remember Congress is a co-equal of government and that down ballot races are every bit as important as the presidential. If God forbid a would-be dictator gets elected on November 3 the greatest check on his power will be having the House and Senate in the hands of the Democrats.

2/ That’s why the most powerful direct action at this point (not instead of but in addition to others) is marching to the voting booth. Has the system been corrupted? Yes - but don’t let it be corrupted further by not using it at all. Friends don’t let friends not vote. #Nov3rd

1/ While #BLM is the largest protest movement in history of the US, Congress has not responded to it with even one piece of legislation. That’s how unresponsive Congress is to the voices of the people.

2/ Brian Murphy, former Acting Undersecty for Intel & Analysis at DHS, has turned whistleblower, saying he was specifically ordered to downplay information about Russian interference as well the threat of white supremacist groups “because it would reflect badly on the president.”

1/“Agency capture” Is when agencies of the US government, instead of acting as independent servants to the people, instead become puppets of corporate or executive branch control.

No I don’t. But I have the courage of my convictions and when I believe something to be true I will say it.

Except that it’s true. Which is why I’m saying it.

No side of the political spectrum has a monopoly on vile social media posts.
2
What does that mean? What in your mind would I do differently?
