Given how many voters have previously chosen not to vote, I think it’s more complicated than that though.

They won’t be prosecuted by him because he is on their team.

It’s bad. But right now, less bad. And we need to take responsibility for the fact that we didn’t exercise the necessary force to counter it before. It seduced a lot of people.

I have some really sad, bad news for you. And you know it’s true: THEY DON’T CARE. BLM is the largest protest movement in American history and there has not been one legislative response to it. The power move is to replace those legislators with people who agree with us.

A lot of people hit me hard but they do it w/ some honor & respect. I’m all in for that. Somebody can say “stfu”all they want, but I don’t have to have them at my dinner table. It’s no longer meaningful conversation then. It’s abusive. They can correct it if they want to.

We don’t need a majority; we need a critical mass. What happened to Bernie has happened twice now. More people than ever see how the game is played. A lot of people are waking up to things they didn’t understand before.

Absolutely. But for right now it is what it is. And as soon as the election is over, we need to get up and fight another day. The midterms in 2022 will already be upon us.

That’s just ridiculous, and nothing in my past supports your description of my behavior.

Some on the right act as tho America has never done anything wrong & some on the left act as tho America has never done anything right. But they’re both wrong. It’s seeing that our history is a combination of the 2 that gives us the insight needed to fundamentally course-correct.

Politics isn’t just abstraction or theory. It’s about living, breathing people and how they respond to circumstances. Nothing is prewritten for the future, because people who are complacent will act one way to circumstances and people who are activated will react in another way.

Which I said often! I ran for president talking about the military industrial complex, seeking to establish United States department of Peace And speaking about outsized US militarism.

We know who he is and what he will do. That’s a given. A vote for Biden is not approval for any of that. It’s a lock on the door, at least temporarily, so that genuine full on fascism cannot get in. It’s a pause in the action so we can coalesce & activate.

Unbelievably patronizing. I haven’t just read books that refuse to whitewash America’s past; I have WRITTEN books that refuse to whitewash America’s past.

I sure as hell won’t. You won’t. Millions and millions and millions of people who supported Bernie etc. won’t. This isn’t 2016. Everybody gets it now. We are on the verge of something extraordinary, but it will be much more difficult to make it happen under Trump.

2/ Also it’s on us that til Bernie there was no large scale effort to turn the Occupy sentiment into electoral power. Now that that’s happened & been repudiated (tho not everywhere) we have our work cut out moving forward. Helping elect Trump isn’t a power move; it’s surrender.

1/ OK so let’s look at that. Occupy was ignored by Obama’s America (tho it still had long lasting effect). As infuriating as that was, in a Trump America something far worse and even tragic would be likely to happen.

I do not disagree. If I didn’t agree with all of these arguments then I would never have run for president. You’re not talking to someone who didn’t put myself out there, have skin in the game, & face vilification for saying those things. But my point remain the same about Trump.

The fundamental changes we need will not be coming from either of them. It will come from a new breed of progressive candidate who hopefully will win in this election & from those of us ready to support them. So let’s not re-elect a prez who will continue to suppress elections!
