The alternative to that is truly harrowing, so for the next however many days let’s do everything possible to make it happen - and pray for a miracle.

I understand. Everybody’s going to have to vote their own heart’s truth.

So is everybody 13 years old now? I don’t think it’s “blaming” someone to say I disagree with them. A lot of people disagree with me on Twitter and I don’t necessarily feel blamed, I just feel disagreed with (except the hateful ones). And often I learn a thing or two.

If you think your first paragraph is correct – and you might be - then that’s a reason to form a third-party after the election. Your second paragraph is ridiculously inaccurate.

Terrifying enough for you? Make no mistake about it, these people mean it.

YES!!!
If you’re wondering how dictatorships rise and mass genocide events occur, you’re witnessing it in USA right now. Much of it has to do with the authoritarian side moving like a high-speed bulldozer while everyone else continually underestimates the magnitude of the threat.

Yep.
In Trump's first year in office, DOJ penalties against corporate offenders dropped by 90%. At the EPA, they plunged by 94%.

That’s an excellent idea. It would be transformative for them and probably for the audience too.

And as far as “reeking of privilege” goes, this is clear to me: if Trump is re-elected, I think it’s unlikely that I will be rounded up and thrown in jail - and precisely for that reason. It is in fact those far less privileged than me that I’m worried about.

Yeah, if only I was as smart as you. I’m sure that’s what makes the difference here. Is there any way people can respect each other’s intelligence and simply disagree? And you bet it’s binary choice: between democracy and fascism.

You tell ‘em, Bernie. 💖
Trump claims he's a "law and order" president. That's funny. This is a president who shamelessly violates the Constitution, incites violence, uses his office to enrich his family, and seven of his top campaign advisers have been criminally charged (so far). Trump must go.

You can talk about a complicated situation in simplistic terms, but that doesn’t mean it’s not complicated. The corporatist duopoly its like two broken legs and two broken arms; the Trump agenda is like a bullet near the heart. Our democracy has to be alive if we’re to heal it.

I’m not doing that because it’s not my heart’s truth. No one knows better than I or has tried to walk their talk more than I in an effort to resist a corporatist duopoly. But Biden’s election will give us a pause in the action, & break the freefall descent into fascism in America

That is the talk of a dictator, not a president.
