Part of the problem is how many American kids aren’t taught what we fought it for. 11 states don’t even require 1/2 yr American history or civics. If you don’t learn about the Bill of Rights when you’re a child, you don’t know as an adult to be horrified when it’s under assault.

No comparison. One has an ex-chemical company lobbyist as head of the EPA whereas the other person would have a responsible environmental expert. One deliberately seeks to dismantle environmental regulation; one would seek to provide it. There IS a lesser of two evils sometimes.

For anyone who cares about the future of the planet, the idea of having a climate change denier be president for the next four years should be unthinkable.
Greenland's ice sheet has melted to a point of no return, and efforts to slow global warming will not stop it from disintegrating, according to a new study cnn.it/3j77YUZ

Hardly. I think Claudia standing up for what she believes politically is brave & beautiful. But I think people encouraging a 15-year-old girl to go off on her mother on Twitter when we don’t know the facts - other than that we can’t stand her either - is exploitation, not support

Putting a mirror up to all of us, changing all of us, calling all of us, and weeping with all of us. As you’re well aware, we did this to ourselves. But even now we can choose another way.

Are the Proud Boys and Nazis just “another side?”

3/ Dear God, please do for us what we cannot do for ourselves. Heal this country and heal our hearts. May the waters of forgiveness dissolve the walls that divide us. And so it is. Amen.

I know this: en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Prou…. And I know what my friend who was beaten up by the Proud Boys for being gay has told me of his experience.

Thank you. If what you’re saying is true, then these are even more serious times than I thought.

2/ It reminds me of Rumi’s poem: “Out beyond all ideas of good or bad, right or wrong, there is a field. I’ll meet you there.” Whatever is going on in this country, it’s going to take more than the mortal rational mind to heal it. Fortunately a greater power exists in each of us.

1/ Before I go to sleep tonight, I’m going to say a prayer for my country. There’s a line in A Course in Miracles that says “God does not give you victory in battle; he lifts you above the battlefield.”

I’m sorry, you must have missed my point. It was NOT closing time. And if it had been closing time, no it would not be lawful for someone to beat you up and drag you out of the place.

2/ My friend looked around & saw other people were still there, looked at their watches & realized it wasn’t closing time yet. So they told the guys that they would leave when they were done. Then the Proud Boys literally beat him up & dragged them out. This is not a drill.
