Democracy is a problem for them.
With almost no notice, Georgia House Republicans introduced a 48-page bill to significantly change voting procedures in a way that targets Black voters. It specifically eliminates early voting on Sundays, when Black churches hold Souls to the Polls drives. bit.ly/3duQ7Yo

How right you are, Congressman.
Senators making $174,000/year shouldn't get to tell any worker that they deserve $7.25/hour.

THIS. THIS is what’s possible when politicians do not cater.
NEW: After a week of negotiations w/ the Senate Parliamentarian- Sen. @BernieSanders tells CNN: “I’m confident that the parliamentarian will advise next week that we can raise the minimum wage through the reconciliation process.” FULL STATEMENT:

Politicians often refer to “middle class” or “working class,” but infrequently say “the poor.” Perhaps it’s too confronting; why in the richest country in the world are so many poor? They discuss poverty like it’s a “social problem” when in fact it’s the scourge of so many lives.

When I was running for president, officials in New Hampshire told me a high percentage of children in NH go to bed hungry each night. Hunger in America is a very real thing, made much worse by the pandemic. #WeMustBearWitness patch.com/new-jersey/middlet…

The contrast between how beautiful the world can be & how awful it is for so many people is a source of pain for any sensitive person. But it should also inspire and motivate us to remember that things do not have to be the way they are, and it’s our responsibility to change them

But only now do we have a global infrastructure so vulnerable to it, technology so brilliant by which to deal with it, or human behavior that exacerbates it. The “it’s been happening forever” argument is old and stale.

Until governments deal w/ climate change as the existential crisis it is - moving as urgently as we need to in order to deal with it - we will continue to reap the results of our irresponsibility in the form of pandemics, weather, and ultimately even worse google.com/amp/s/mobile.reut…

The crisis in Texas is unfortunately a microcosm of the recklessness of our system. Not as bad on a federal level as in Texas, but it’s close enough that their situation needs to be a warning to us all: Do not let free market capitalism run your government apnews.com/article/texas-pow…

Those progressive candidates on my endorsement list are NOT neoliberals. That’s why we need more of them in Congress. The Democratic party contains both corporatist and progressive factions.

What I’ve seen it up close who is a huge contrast between intelligent voters ready to make democracy work, and a rigged system. But I’ve also seen how the rigging wouldn’t work if people were not so easily duped! People waking up and overriding the rigging is still the answer.

That’s why I posted my endorsements. We need a progressive wave this year and next. Local, state and federal.

Since none of those things are true about me, I guess I’ll keep weighing in.

That’s the attitude they want you to have. You get that, right?
