We need a #WealthTax: 2% on $50M and over, plus an additional 1% on billionaires. Everyone knows it. One of the wealthiest men I’ve ever known once said to me, “My taxes are so low it’s obscene.”

I’ve spent time among the very very poor and I’ve spent time among the very very rich. The gap that exists there should not exist. Some have so much money they honestly don’t know what to do with it, and others have so little money they honestly don’t know what to do.

So many tortured tweets from people begging for help desperate for a 1-time check that’s a fraction of what other govts r giving their citizens to get thru this. Some seriously cold & callous econ advisors should be ashamed of themselves. No American should have to beg for crumbs

YES. Brilliant move.
Honored to have been elected as the Vice Chair of the @EdLaborCmte in the 117th Congress. Education has the power to change the world, and I look forward to bringing my 20 years of experience in public education as we work to pass transformative policies.

No American should have to be begging their government for enough money to feed their kids. And no political leader who has never had to skip a meal should have the audacity to say no to them.

Correct on such a level.
The debate Democrats should be having is how much *more* we should be helping people this year, not how much less.

This is the kind of soulless economics that views people as things. Interesting to read just to know what kind of thinking we need to leave behind.
Democratic economist Larry Summers and former GOP Senator and economist Phil Gramm don’t agree on much. But when they do, it’s probably worth paying attention. wsj.com/articles/wrong-stimu…
