Sounds great at the beginning, but then look at the things he’s going to take away from parents in order to pay for it.

Let her know...
If survival checks are targeted based on 2019 incomes, millions of people who need help right now will be LEFT OUT. I need to hear from you. If you lost a job or income during COVID, please share how targeting checks would impact you, your family, & your financial stability. 👇🏾

Do it, Joe!!
Joe Biden says he isn't sure if he has authority to cancel student debt. So we asked a debt expert at Harvard Law School. He does. He could do it today—and bring immediate relief to 43+ million Americans. @ei_conn explains how.

I like a lot of things! Yemen, DACA, climate, reuniting kids and parents, Covid efforts, all good. I hope we’ll also see $2k/mo #DirectCashRelief, $15 an hour minimum wage and Medicare4All.

“If done safely” is good & “done safely” should be defined by what makes teachers feel safe. A vague promise with no specificity is not enough. The president was quite far away from Nora O’Donnell in that picture & for good reason; everyone working in America should be that safe.

Only if the teachers feel good about it.

Happy to hear that. Hope it goes well…

It’s outrageous the way we’re treating our teachers as though their health is expendable and their fear illegitimate. This is the legacy of a misogynistic paradigm where the needs of women and children have been deemed secondary for centuries and longer.

Even before pandemic,40% of Americans had trouble covering basic costs & 62% could not be deemed middle class. Govt should be rushing in to rescue people, not acting as though giving them just enough to survive is some act of great largess. $15/hr, $2k/mo is justice, not charity.

Prayers for the people of Myanmar...
The latest repressive act: after hundreds of thousands of people rallied across Myanmar against the military's coup, the military in certain townships bans people from protesting or gathering in groups of more than five and imposes an 8 pm to 4 am curfew. trib.al/ccdDEJx
