Thank you, Dan.
The Super Bowl is great. Companies that will do anything to screw you over can just spend $5.5 million on a heartwarming ad and half the country is like "aw, they care."

Anyone who thinks the Food and Drug Administration has been doing proper oversight regarding either food OR drugs is kidding themselves. Agency capture by corporate interests is killing Americans. (Read “The Fifth Risk” to know how it works) thriftbooks.com/w/the-fifth-…

Leadership.
We need to pass the $15 minimum wage immediately. Then we need to get right back to work to raise it to an actual livable wage.

That’s a fantasyland which has been disproven over and over. After 40 years the jury is in: trickle down economics has not lifted all boats, it has left millions and millions without even a life vest.

There are millions of sick & elderly people in this country who live alone, have no caretakers to help them now, no money with which to buy food and no way to go get it anyway. There is an invisible strata of immeasurable suffering our system refuses to address although it could.

People in Washington are thinking about bipartisanship; tens of millions of Americans are thinking about the importance of eating a meal at least once a day.

$2k/mo, retroactively and for as long as the pandemic lasts, should be seen as a moderate, sane and moral response to a devastating emergency.

That was exactly my question at the time. When I found myself ambushed on live TV, “In my defenselessness my safety lies” was exactly the line that came into my mind. I realize now that it didn’t mean I shouldn’t speak up for myself; it just means to do so without defensiveness.
