If someone’s house is on fire no one “negotiates for a better package” before sending a fire truck. There’s a spiritual & psychological problem here that we don’t view healthcare & hunger the same way. It is a perversion of values that we don’t. We need a #RadicalHumanitarianism

There are millions of people in this country for whom 12 days has already put them in a panic zone. Not everyone can afford to “hang tight.”

People worked so hard to give Democrats the win. If voters don’t feel it’s being used in every way possible to address the deep misery that’s out there today, no amount of fundraising will bring them back to the polls in ‘22.

That line is from the Gettysburg Address; it was spoken on a battlefield where over 50,000 men died. Pretty much as far from a joke as you can get.

Maybe you should read the Gettysburg Address.

We have a president, we don’t have a king. See “Give ‘em hell, Harry!”

Tens of millions of Americans are living with excruciating despair not knowing how to pay their rent or feed their kids, while 10 senators who plan to make it harder for them want a meeting at the WH to “discuss ideas.” They call it “bipartisanship and unity.” Turn ‘em down, Joe.

Creating complexity where there is none is a way to hide the simple truth: our government is simply more interested in helping the rich than in helping the poor. It’s more than an institutional neglect or disregard; there’s an undeclared war on the poor in America.
