2/ Private over public investment is a like religion to some people; they’re literally willing to see people die rather than undercut the dominance of the market. A healthy society is a balance of both. Private is good for innovation but public is necessary for long-term security

1/Everyone should be clear why the president has NOT been willing to invoke Defense Production Act to direct manufacture of PPE. It’s the same reason we didn’t accept tests early on from WHO: to do so would undercut the ability of someone to market a product in the private sector

Every problem comes bearing the seed of its own solution. It’s when things are not as they should be that we’re forced to make them right. The thing about the discernment of evil is that it makes you hunger for the good.

What happens in the first eight years of life is the primary determinant of how one’s life will unfold, and collectively therefore how our society will unfold.

We have the expertise we need in early childhood development, community wraparound services, child psycho-neurology, social work & education. But they’re vastly under resourced & underfunded. Admin of Family & Child services has $58B budget compared to Defense $760B. Start there.

If we were to radically front end our resources in the direction of children, we could create peace and universal prosperity within 15 years.

What do you think BLM’s agenda is for this country, other than equal justice for black people? Isn’t that what every American’s agenda should be?

We can’t run away, though. It would be all the more reason we have to stay.

But I sense that we are. I hope you heal fully, by the way, and that your circumstances turn around soon.

Sorry, I didn't realize. Anyway, we could have done better with some of these primaries and we still might in others. In my opinion, we need to stop Trump; that's got to be top priority. Then let's try to forge a progressive space within the Dems under Biden; if we can't, leave.

Your'e not breaking anything to me; that suggests it's some objective truth. We simply disagree.

If we don't vote and we aren't active within the system, we can't complain about it. And I say that as someone who was trashed royally doing it. Great progressives are running down-ballot but aren't getting support from people who claim to be so progressive. We can't just whine.

Look, no one knows better than me (other than Bernie) what sick games they play. But this is our democracy we're talking about; we can't let Trump win again. And a lot of people who say they're progressives have sat out the primaries where there are actually good candidates.
