I agree with that - but I think if a lot of people who did see through it had worked harder, that would have made a difference.

If we want that, we have to more fully support the candidates who represent that.

Still it’s our job to do, and if we’d been doing it more fervently all along then we wouldn’t be in the situation we’re in now.

Way too many people left electoral politics to others. You can’t blame the media or even gerrymandering etc. entirely for that.

Sometimes I think we're led by sociopaths projecting their lack of humanity onto the world. Then I think they're just stunted children who are in way over their heads and have no idea how to be adults. Then I think it's our fault for electing them. Then I remember all 3 are true.

Then people are going to have to do the nitty gritty unglamorous work of supporting the candidates who represent that. Too many on the Left want to whine, bitch, analyze & post - but not do the banal work it will take to overcome a corporate-backed system & build political power

No, global poverty has not just been “revealed.” It has been there staring every person of conscience in the face, ignored and exploited by a rich and powerful political/media elite, only now so glaringly obvious that even they must pretend to notice.
Covid-19 has revealed a pre-existing pandemic of poverty that benefits the rich theguardian.com/global-devel…

Not true. Such revisionist history perpetuates the very kind of thinking that led to it. It was an illegal war for which those responsible should be held accountable if even only in our memories, lest we fail to learn from our mistakes & allow such criminal wrongdoing ever again.

Read about Joe Wilson and yellow cake uranium. They lied.

Only not a rallying cry among those who don’t want to do the nitty gritty work of actually volunteering & winning Congressional and Senatorial campaigns. The candidates who would turn all this around are out there, often unsupported by the those who say they most want the change.

Oh my God, Elizabeth. From my mother’s heart to yours, I rejoice with you. My late sister was named Jane. I’m thrilled your daughter is safe and sound.

The Iraq War was up there.
I’m not sure there ever has been a more openly, brazenly corrupt act committed by a president of the United States.
