This isn’t about them; it’s about him. We can’t blame the military for the crimes of the military-industrial-complex or the recklessness of a president. Those generals were told to walk with him and they had to. It was a photo-op staged by the WH.

1/ From the moment this started, there should have been #DirectCashRelief allowing people to survive comfortably at home. Not corporate bailouts; PEOPLE bailouts! Defense Production Act could have immediately provided for adequate equipment, testing, contact tracing.
90% of the coronavirus debate now is about trying to find ways around the fact that the obvious solution is to pay people to stay home until there's a vaccine.

It didn't "almost burn down." And I'm not defending looters! But the main looters are huge financial forces taking corporate bailouts to the tune of hundreds of millions while the average person suffers, and what's in danger of being burned down are the pillars of our democracy.

Actually, yes. Of course voters have been used and exploited, but we also haven't put up enough of a resistance to the madness - until now. And those generals didn't just say, "Hey, I want to go too!" Their commander-in-chief called for it, for the sake of the photo op.

Important to note that when the president goes to see wounded soldiers at Walter Reed Hospital, a bunch of generals aren’t usually walking behind him. These men were told to do it - used and exploited to create an image - just like the general in the photo at Lafayette church.

It is. Being responsible citizens in the most powerful nation - realizing so much power left unchecked is predictably used by nefarious forces - does take work. We’ll have to work even harder now because we failed to do it before & we’ll have keep working or it will happen again.

So Bush’s experience as Gov of Texas & Cheney as Sec of Defense really served us well? Only those trained to drive a car that has driven us into a ditch should be considered qualified to drive us out of it? Trump’s problem isn’t lack of experience, but lack of decency & ethics.
