I’m ashamed for my country for the things we’ve done wrong and I’m very proud of my country for the things we’ve done right. American history is complicated and I can’t explain it to you on Twitter.

But we let it all happen. We have to take responsibility for the fact that the trend has been building for decades. Our chronic distractedness from the political process contributed greatly to a now entrenched dysfunction & our re-engagement with the process will turn it around.

Not. We have certainly made some mistakes, even terrible ones, but your description is false. We’ve done a lot of very good things too.

Women have had to work through issues with psychologically abusive men for a long time. That gives us a unique ability to recognize an abusive relationship the American people have with an economic/ political system that exploits and does not honor us.

The American people have been trained to ask for far too little, expected to sacrifice happiness, financial well-being, and even health for the sake of a thinly disguised new aristocracy. People ask “Pretty please?” for things that should be considered the right of every American

We can’t fight it, we can only replace it. But right now love involves some radical truth-telling, fierce resistance and often uncomfortable refusal to acquiesce to lies. Love isn’t always easy.

I do understand that.😞 But it’s also true that opening schools without taking the proper CDC-suggested safety precautions is insane.

NOTHING is too impractical or expensive if it’s needed for the safety of our children. Nothing. Nothing. Nothing.
I disagree with @CDCgov on their very tough & expensive guidelines for opening schools. While they want them open, they are asking schools to do very impractical things. I will be meeting with them!!!

They reopened schools with no problem because they had already taken care of Covid intelligently, making it a safe thing to do. Unlike here.
In Germany, Denmark, Norway, Sweden and many other countries, SCHOOLS ARE OPEN WITH NO PROBLEMS. The Dems think it would be bad for them politically if U.S. schools open before the November Election, but is important for the children & families. May cut off funding if not open!

These are not normal times. How is it that pretty much every country in the world can integrate that into their understanding, but so many of us cannot? (I do understand however that home is not a safe place for every child)

2/ They’re not talking about how to re-open school safely. Nothing about masks for the kids, or PPE, or social distancing. Such an unbelievable hypocrisy, risking the health of our children so we can reopen the economy ... all so someone can more easily win an election.

1/ A lot of talk about how they want to reopen schools because our children are being mentally harmed by “social isolation.” I guess we should just skip summer vacation from now on then, huh? “Family values” people seem so nervous now about kids spending time with their families!
