Because until the George Floyd murder, people were in a state of psychological paralysis about these things. That event seems to have broken a spell, woken us up, activated the moral outrage necessary to force changes onto the system.

I support UBI also, but it’s not a direct rebuje of trickle down economics. Milton Friedman, the main articulator of trickle down, himself supported it. It’s something that ameliorates the effects of trickle down but it doesn’t rebuke it.

Sorry, but I can’t. To me it’s more nuanced than that. I’m still holding out for an appropriately regulated capitalism with a conscience, money out of politics, and a healthy balance between capitalist and socialist factors in society.
