She is a favorite of the corporate Democratic establishment. She’s a good woman, not a bad candidate… But she’s someone who props up the corporate Dem status quo at a time when we need to disrupt it.

The woman to beat her is @BetsySweetME! Imagine replacing Susan Collins with a genuine progressive. Support her at progressivecandidstesummit.c… or at BetsySweet.com
Remember when Susan Collins confirmed Kavanaugh and claimed he would “follow precedent” when it came to upholding abortion rights? Me too. She's up for re-election in November.

4/ An economic system that has too few people at the wheel and too many people in the passenger seat is an economic system headed for a crash.

3/ In fact, money comes from the creativity & productivity of the people. All public policy should be geared toward helping people thrive cuz thriving people have the opportunity to be more creative & productive. Health care, education etc reduce anxiety and increase productivity

2/ Entire generations have been led to believe that their financial abundance is the result of corporate job creation. That is a paradigmatic error that leaves too many people stuck in survival mode, perhaps with a job but with no real opportunity for financial advancement.

1/ All public policy should be guided by one question: what would help people thrive? Currently it’s guided primarily by whatever helps corporations thrive. Change to a humanitarian bottom will provide massive infusion of hope and opportunity into the life of the average American

There will always be violence on our streets until we rid it from our hearts. Fundamental changes in society won’t be possible without simultaneous changes in ourselves. Everything we want the world to be, we have to at least try to be: loving, compassionate, non-violent and fair

The first American Revolution involved a Declaration of Independence from external forms of tyranny. The second American Revolution requires a Declaration of Independence from internal forms of tyranny: greed, racism, bigotry, injustice and hatred. Including within ourselves.

Because until the George Floyd murder, people were in a state of psychological paralysis about these things. That event seems to have broken a spell, woken us up, activated the moral outrage necessary to force changes onto the system.

What happened in Aurora, Colorado last night is exactly why we need an entirely new brand of leadership - people like @Romanoff2020 who recognize what systems need to be disrupted & which ones need protection. The status quo is untenable. #WinWithRomanoff google.com/amp/s/www.denverp…

I support UBI also, but it’s not a direct rebuje of trickle down economics. Milton Friedman, the main articulator of trickle down, himself supported it. It’s something that ameliorates the effects of trickle down but it doesn’t rebuke it.

We’re both. It’s like saying we have a roof but we also have windows.

Sorry, but I can’t. To me it’s more nuanced than that. I’m still holding out for an appropriately regulated capitalism with a conscience, money out of politics, and a healthy balance between capitalist and socialist factors in society.
