I don’t think we’ve ignored them. I admit that our public education system has ignored them in too many cases, and our govt as well. But some people act today as though they’re the first people to discover American history. It’s just not true.

4/ Anyone who thinks America is “all good,” sadly has it wrong. But anyone who thinks America is “all bad” has it wrong as well. We need to hold the realization of both. We in our time, like others before us, are called upon to make a choice for “the angels of our better nature.”

3/ Others, however, are so focused on the mistakes of our past and present but they fail to realize the underlying principles and ideals that are the basis of our ability to course-correct.

2/ Some people emphasize our enlightened ideals and genuine strengths, yet refuse to face the underlying evils of our national transgressions and the moral responsibility to heal them.

1/ America has always been an ironic mix - we’re based on the highest aspirational ideals, yet we ourselves have been at times the most violent transgressors against them.

If an ubiquitous wave of messaging - “she’s a wacky crystal lady anti-vaxx anti-science anti-medicine dangerous crazy grifter” - came at you, most people would think you a nut job too. That’s how they throw dust in people’s eyes to make sure anyone “inconvenient” gets off stage.

That is simply not true. Cory Gardner is very unpopular and the Democrats are sure to win the race. Romanoff was running long before Hickenlooper got in.

Yes, and he was a good candidate too. I also endorsed Bernie. The fact that somebody didn’t win a campaign doesn’t mean that they weren’t a good candidate. Broihier and Booker are both strong progressives.

I did. Mike Broihier - an equally strong progressive. The Democrats of Kentucky chose Booker and that’s cool. He’s also a strong progressive. I hope he beats McConnell and I hope Mike considers taking on Rand Paul two years from now.

This is Katie Porter’s sister. They must have had one amazing mother.

We'll experience violence until we consciously choose peace. The Dept. of Peace is an idea whose time has come. Let's move this idea forward...mariannenow.com/issues/us-de…
The federal analog to this will be dismantling the Pentagon, CIA, and DHS, and investing the trillions we’ll save in establishing a Department of Peace with a mandate—and resources—to support multilateral institutions and help ameliorate international conflicts before they erupt.
