I remember hearing Dennis Kucinich say many years ago, “We must challenge the idea that war is inevitable.” I think that’s where we begin. We will have peace in the world when we decide to wage peace.

If anything, it made people relate to him.

It was clearly a very well-built plane. And so is ours. We can’t continue with this analogy because it was never that great to begin with, but you get my point.

It’s our decision to make. We need to go past hope, to conviction. It will happen because we’re going to make it happen. People were slow to wake up to all this, but there are signs everywhere that we’re awake now.

Yes. It is. Our foundational principles will carry us through this. There’s a passion behind the resistance, a genuine arousal of the American spirit. It was on display in some of the primary races last night. I feel it in my gut. We’re going to do our ancestors proud.

2/ Even day I can’t believe he said that, but the plane landed safely. Our country is going through turbulence & we can definitely look at it in one of two ways. Both are true: our democracy is under assault & the people are waking up. But the people will win; our plane will land

1/ I was on a plane once when turbulence got bad and the pilot came on to say, “Well we can look at this one of two ways. We can look at it like the glass is half empty or we can look at it like the glass is half full.” Passengers looked at each other in total disbelief & horror.

I don’t think it’s about “wrong.” Broihier was a great candidate too. But the people of Kentucky know better what is right for them, I support that, and I’m thrilled they chose a progressive. Booker is great too and he pulled off an extraordinary accomplishment.

Not true. Paternalism does not refer to patriarchy; it refers to an attitude of “We-know-better,” the way the Dem establishment elite treats progressives like children who have to be corralled into doing what they consider the right thing - and scolded when we don’t.

There were 2 strong progressives in the race & I endorsed who I felt was the best one to beat McConnell. But voters in KY are the decider’s, not me. They chose Booker & I’m thrilled to endorse him now. What’s important is that a progressive defeated the centrist, and I’m all in.

To Dems in KY who took a stand last night for a progressive alternative @Booker4KY - refusing to acquiesce to a paternalistic machine that insists it knows better when clearly it doesn’t - you deserve a million kudos. You’ve paved the way and showed the rest of us how it’s done.

The soundtrack for tonight should be Bob Dylan's Ballad of a Thin Man. "Because something is happening here but you don't know what it is Do you, Mr. Jones?"
