With all due respect, perhaps that should be Nancy Pelosi.

3/ What’s dying now is what needs to die, and what’s being born is a New America. It’s a difficult death and a difficult birth, but the new life that’s emerging will be a blessing on us all.

2/ In too many cases: they have failed to right historic wrongs; have perpetuated economic priorities dripping with injustice & passive cruelty; and have failed to demonstrate values and principles they then expected others, particularly our young, to uphold.

1/ Our political establishment has behaved so recklessly, so dangerously, that they’ve deprived whole generations of Americans of an understanding of why they should love this country.

Mindset of 21st-C different from the mindset of 20th, as 20th-C mindset was different from 19th. The only survivable option for the human race is to evolve from a “me” orientation to a “we” orientation, from mechanistic to holistic, from an economic to a humanitarian bottom line

They can only rig them when people are asleep. When people awaken they override corporate influence. Thinking change can only happen from the outside is surrendering govt to corporate influence. Nothing enlightened about that. System not “terminally” corrupt; only until we fix it

One of those “Americans are slow to get it, but once they do…” type of things.

2/Americans are often slow to wake up to certain things, but once we do wake up we slam it like nobody’s business. We’re like a giant who’s been sleeping, now starting to rouse, looking around and saying “What the hell is going on here??”

A prison guard beat a handcuffed prisoner to death while other guards watched. Then “all officers involved in the incident were put on administrative leave.”You might want to read that twice just to take it in. google.com/amp/s/amp.miamihe…

This is the kind of cronyism that’s pure & blatant corruption. How do we end it? Vote differently & support a different kind of candidate. Take the Colorado Senate race personally; the way Senators vote affects all of us.@Romanoff2020

That’s why they should BE one of the people - and not just part of a political class or those who they choose to appoint as their puppets.

This is also why people who have been in Congress too long need to go. Too many people making decisions that affect the majority of Americans’ lives lack a visceral understanding of how the average person lives, what their struggles are, and how much fear and anxiety plague them
I wrote up one of the problems with the Federal Reserve. Every Fed board member is extremely wealthy, which means that key decision-makers have little experience with student debt, credit card debt, debt collectors, or payday loans. mattstoller.substack.com/p/e…

Among the many accolades Joel Schumacher will deservedly receive, one should be his extraordinary generosity during the AIDS crisis. I remember him with fondness and gratitude. He helped many. May he rest in peace. yahoo.com/entertainment/dead…

I miss them too. Thank you. I was planning to give weekly lectures in DC but then Covid changed all that. When things open up I will definitely start live weekly lectures again.
