2/ Over the last few years the media has created a situation in which such unimportant things are played like they’re a huge big deal (just for ratings), so that when an actual huge big deal comes along people can’t see the difference between that and Justin Bieber’s new haircut.

I think we should get over the idea that he is “weak.” This is a man who has command of US military force unlike anything we can imagine, and he is willing to use it. I don’t think he’s making an empty threat. His talk about “dominate the streets” yesterday was not a joke.

Kyle KotajarviAt the exact same time every day, the same thing happens someplace in Australia. I witnessed it there. It’s like a wall of bats that just looks like wood and then all of a sudden they take off at exactly 4:14 in the afternoon I think. It was astonishing to see.

4/ That doesn't mean we should slow down!! No! We need to keep persevering, never letting up, especially now that the fruits of our fervor are beginning to appear. But on a personal level, the more loving & peaceful we keep the protests, the less chance of a backlash in Nov.

3/ Many changes are long overdue. But they represent such dramatic shift in the minds of so many that it behooves us to be patient & magnanimous, even towards those who were neither of those things towards us. Change takes time to process & people need to feel safe as they do it.
