Good, because I hate reading them. The condescension takes some shaking off.

Well I didn’t say that, so there should be no problem.

Yes I know - except for the democratically elected part, which is a hard not.

Because I’ve had 35 years to think about it, write about it and speak about it. Did you really think I was leading crystal ceremonies?

I’m talking about what happened after the invasion, when Paul Bremmer disbanded the army. Read up.

You might want to rethink that.

Much establishment thinking in this country finds truth absurd because it is absurd.

Shouldn’t @JoeBiden, @SpeakerPelosi and the president of the @ACLU be doing nightly press conferences about now?

1/ In Minneapolis, Seattle and elsewhere it’s obvious that many police simply aren’t taking their orders from their mayor - perhaps even from their chief. Trump said “overwhelming force” & “dominate the streets,” and to them he’s the boss.

I’m all for disbanding police departments as they now exist but we need to remember a piece of history. When the US invaded Iraq we disbanded their army, and those former army forces created ISIS. The last thing we need is thousands of angry excops forming a militia of their own.

That’s one of the reasons more older people are not there. If it weren’t for Covid, the crowds would be even much bigger.

The way to ultimately decrease violence is to proactively wage peace. These four factors statistically do that: expand educational opportunities for children and economic opportunities for women, reduce violence against women, and reduce unnecessary human suffering. #DeptofPeace

The reason the protests are important is because the longer they go on, the more pressure there is on the system to actually make fundamental changes. As long as they’re peaceful, it only shows the abusiveness of the system when police attack protesters.#staysafe

We have to go further than new rules of policing. We have to change the entire culture of policing, and that means funding less the tools of brute force & funding more the tools of soul force. We need to transform the entire paradigm: “to protect & serve.” nytimes.com/2020/06/07/nyreg…
