2/ Haters have backbone. And lovers need backbone too. They think we'll tire of all this. Prove them so, so wrong.

1/ For 3 years we've been too often on the defensive, reacting to the craziness rather than being prepared for it. Make the shift now. Simply assume it's coming - and it's all building up to messing with the election. Work on all cylinders now. They never let up; neither can we.

A big change that's needed is for Dems or would-be Dems to drop the codependent protectionist attitude toward their current leadership. If people aren't getting the job done then it's time for change. I'm excited to be talking to SHAHID BUTTAR tonight! 6/9 progressivecandidatesummit.c…

I'm not supporting his plan. I'm saying that when the conversation reaches such an establishment level, we're making progress. First there's a conversation becoming acceptable within the public sphere, not being treated like some weird thing - and then the plan can emerge.

He knew what his character and ethics were the entire time he was working at the White House. They all do (except maybe Kushner and Miller, who so align with him that they don't see neofascism as a bad thing). Many ex-officials are now saying it, and it needs to be said.
Former White House Chief of Staff John Kelly: "I think we need to look harder at who we elect. I think we should look at people that are running for office and put them through the filter: What is their character like? What are their ethics?"

When people like David Brooks are supporting reparations, we’re making progress. Whether Medicare4all, #directcashrelief, reparations, free higher education or what- just keep saying it & when you feel too exhausted to say it again, say it ten more times. nytimes.com/2020/06/04/opini…

Yes! I hope you’re doing that with other people as well. An idea grows stronger when it’s shared. So does a vision. Creative artists working in tandem now, doing exactly what you’re saying, will exponentially strengthen the field.

4/ Try to avoid “But we tried this and it didn’t work” or “We tried that and it didn’t work.” We’ve never been awake like we’re awake now. If each of us puts in even a fraction more effort than we put into all this before, democracy & love will win - & our ancestors will be proud

3/ Something it’s important to remember is that every time you see an image that completely outrages you, there are millions of other people who feel the same way. We’re going to harness all that and turn it into political force. That’s what they think we can’t do - but we can.

2/ It’s an emotional shift from “I can have what I want when I want it” to “OK, I get it, they’re going to play hardball, this is going to take some time, it’s a process, it’s going to take a lot of effort but we’re up for it - the bastards are not going to take this country.”

1/ One of the things that can weaken us as a generation (by generation I mean all of us who are adults now) is that we’ve gotten used to a kind of instant gratification. It can emotionally weaken us when we see things totally not working & we don’t see how to immediately fix them

.@MikeForKY is a progressive candidate running for the Dem nomination to take on Mitch McConnell. Dem establishment pushing the wrong candidate (gee, really?). Support Mike if you want to ditch Mitch! Here is Mike’s plan for comprehensive justice reform:

We need a complete & total overhaul of law-enforcement in America. This will not come from the top, it has to come from us. It will only come from a wave of citizen activism unlike anything we’ve seen since the 1960s. It will only come if we elect the people who’ll make it happen

3/ Don’t worry about your parents; they get to vote however they want. Just work as hard as you can to elect people who see things your way. Like these: progressivecandidatesummit.c…

2/ Millions of American children live with chronic trauma. 13 million hungry even before the pandemic. PTSD just living in their neighborhoods. “Trauma rooms” common in public schools. We need Dept of Children & Youth to harness & coordinate the expertise needed to change this.

1/ You’re right. If a child can’t read by the age of eight then the chances of high school graduation are drastically diminished and the chances of incarceration greatly increased. That’s why we need to stop funding public schools primarily on property taxes.
