Is there anyone in charge who’s not a psychopath? Anyone…?

He either knows he’s lying, or he actually means what he says and the police underneath him don’t really care one way or the other what he says....
"We stand with the Floyd family. We condemn what took place in Minneapolis...It should be a wake up call for this entire country, for justice." NYPD Commissioner Dermot Shea holds a news conference following the death of George Floyd. abcn.ws/3eGShBy

What we must not do is look away. Bear witness to the agony of others....and never kid yourself that it couldn’t happen to you.

2/ They will persevere with this, and they will also try to mess with the election. God knows what else will happen between now and then. Register to vote as if your life depended on it. And do whatever it takes to vote.

1/ It’s happening everywhere, in cities all across America. He spent the last three years purging our justice department of any of the people who would stop this. He has an Attorney General with more allegiance to him than to our Constitution.

Bill...?
Got maced, beaten with a baton, had my hands ziptied, and got sent in a boiling hot paddywagon to a crowded Queens Central Booking cell for participating in a 100% peaceful protest in the Bronx tonight. I am fine. What I saw the cops do tonight was fucking terrifying.

Where are the pictures of these Antifa terrorists? Have you noticed that they don’t exist? Have you noticed that the rioting and the looting has settled down and that it’s peaceful protesters now being attacked by the police? Trump is protecting no one.

How much more of this do you think people are going to take?
How injustices compound: Many protestors are people who‘ve lost health insurance during COVID. After being beaten, tear gassed, or badly hurt, many are afraid to seek medical care to check for bleeds, fractures, or head injuries because they are newly uninsured.

Why should Bowser not be able to determine whether troops are stationed in DC? Few citizens are “grateful” for the presence of troops here. This is America. Hint. Hint.

But that’s not who they’re beating up. Do you not see that?

There clearly is a pattern here. Peaceful protesters. Usually not even past curfew. Then sudden, not even gradual police violence hurled at them. Are we just shredding the Constitution and pretending it never existed? inquirer.com/news/philadelph…

Dear Bill. So let’s say the man on the bicycle had not been a delivery person or a journalist. Perhaps not an “essential worker” of any kind ... just somebody still out after curfew. Are you saying that a COP BEATING THEM WITH A BATON would then be acceptable behavior?
Just got off the phone with @NYPDShea after seeing the troubling video of a delivery worker arrested by police while doing his job. This is NOT acceptable and must stop. Food delivery is essential work and is EXEMPTED from the curfew.

2/ It’s a lesson for all of us to realize that failure to proactivity create the good leaves a vacuum in which bad things fester. It’s not just that we have to wake up to deal with what’s happening now. It’s that we have to wake up and stay awake or such things will always return

1/ For a while, in fact for far too long, the voices of hate have been getting louder and louder in America. The voices of love, on the other hand - of dignity, decency & commitment to democracy - have in many ways spoken too softly. And that’s what’s started to change.
