That’s White Supremacist/Nazi Lie #1.

We’re experiencing an all systems failure; to rise to the occasion we need an all systems response mechanism. WE have to change. Meditation is as important as the news; forgiveness is as important as resistance; & emotional discipline is as important as intellectual understanding

Meditation in the morning affects our nervous system through the day. It aligns our energy with the natural ability to focus on what’s most deeply true, and when - whether it’s the motherly need to be there for our children or the political need to be there for our planet.

4/ From #TrayvonMartin to #AhmaudArbery to #BreonnaTaylor, we must recognize these things not simply as individual tragedies but as expressions of a white supremacist movement now on the rise and infiltrating our society. #CongressionalHearingsNow

3/ As awful as it is to pile on another layer of horror when so much is already happening, we have to face the fact that white supremacist behavior is becoming normalized In America today.

2/ My father used to say, ”They might not be doing it to us now, but if they’re doing it to anyone then they could always get back around to us.” If we’re going to stand for justice, it can’t just be justice for our own.

1/ As a Jew I was raised with the slogan “Never again.” We were taught that “Never again” applied not only to us but to anyone. We were taught of a time and place in which Jews were hunted down like dogs - and that we must never, ever, ever allow that again.

Actually, the “national debate stage” was a reality TV show. Of the two, that’s the one which we perceive as a joke.

You’re saying that is proving my point.

That sort of proves my point. I remember when the book “Hillbilly Elegy” came out; it opened a lot of people’s eyes to the smugness and arrogance of that term and how it was resented by so many people.

Stereotypes are dangerous. Every group has a shadow side, but identifying an entire group by their shadow is where the greatest evil comes from. The fact that it starts out as a “joke” just makes it even more dangerous. Trump does that. We shouldn’t. Just my opinion…

Yep. I still think an American president should look at Jacinda Adern and say “Girlfriend, you are so on.” In many ways, a friendly comepetition with her is exactly the kind of thinking that should guide us. “Children first” is just one of them

It’s not that I don’t understand the stereotype that’s being pictured there, because I do. But I also think that any group could be stereotyped according to their shadow if we chose to. It shouldn’t be considered politically incorrect to do it for one group but not for another.

The whole idea of Karen is a misogynistic trope. There is no equivalent for men and that should tell you everything. We’re in a terrible mess in this planet and we’re not going to get ourselves out of it by finding more amusing ways to divide or demean.

I don’t see that as the point at all. The misogyny is still there. How is the white woman any more privileged than the white man? He, in fact, is more privileged than her. And how is demeaning any group a step on the path to where we want to be?

Is there an equivalent categorization for men? No, of course not.

I will not. Israeli soldiers are drafted into service. That young man was not responsible for Netanyahu’s policies.

That’s viewing it more negatively than we need to. One party still has some people who are trying very hard.
