Yep.
As President Trump elevates hyper-partisans during the coronavirus pandemic, @JohnAvlon says “America is a getting a crash course in why competent government matters.” #RealityCheck

Can you tell me the circumstances under which two men with a gun approaching an unarmed man and him then defending himself is a situation where perhaps he’s guilty and we just “need to know more of the facts?” Of course a trial is necessary, but our suspension of disbelief is not

But WE don’t deserve it. And the DNC doesn’t care what you think; your proposed solution will create no behavioral modification on their part whatsoever.

And it’s not gonna happen if enough people use that as an excuse not to make sure Trump is defeated in November. I know what they did. Believe me I know. But that’s two broken legs and right now we’re having a heart attack.

4/ I don’t think we can get out of this mess until enough of us face it in all its horror; not just the results of bad government but the reality of bad government - its utter venality. And it is ours to change. It will not be easy but our democracy, and our lives, depend on it.

No, it doesn’t. And there’s the rub. It doesn’t care. It is a sociopathic economic juggernaut that is like a head without a heart.

3/ Instead, the virus hit us much harder than it had to & a wave of economic despair has slammed us hard. Now people want to go back to work to pay their rent & feed their kids, which is likely to cause the next wave of mass infection. Terrible? Yes, but important to understand .

2/ 3) the president had moved quickly to provide all equipment & medical support, which he had the authority to do, and 4) our govt had provided immediate sustained bailout in the form of #directcashrelief.

1/ So much pain and suffering could have been avoided if 1) our healthcare system was designed to improve health more than increase profit, 2) our govt agencies were quick and responsive to the needs of people over the demands of an unjust economy...

No matter who or where you are, consider it a given that someone might try to suppress your vote. Begin early informing yourself of every aspect of voting in your state, every vulnerability that exists & everything you need to do early to override it.cnn.com/2020/05/10/opinions/…

Sad to break it to you, but maybe do some research about how many jobs are saved by those bailouts. CEO’s, certainly! I would have been fine if the $ was required to be paid to workers. And of course we want to work, but no one wants to die.
