No it’s not understandable at all. It’s cowardly. Cynicism is just an excuse for not helping.

Every time we’ve sat in a coffee shop having a personal conversation, saw a flyer about a local or state election and pushed it away saying “Whatever,” we’ve passively participated in the corporate takeover of America. They love that you don’t care.

For years it’s been the tendency of the Left to get involved with hot and adrenaline-laced presidential campaigns but not so much down ballot races. Yet the philosophical struggle between whether people or corporations should run this country is waged in local & state elections

That’s the bed we’re in too. Re-electing Trump hurts everyone - and not just in America. If we care about people, planet and animals, we’ll do everything possible to defeat him in November.

Vote as though your democracy depended on it, because it does. Get involved in down ballot races. Become politically involved in your community. Know what’s going on and start participating. Now.

A tragic, deeply significant story that we absolutely must keep talking about. A white supremacist resurgence is going on in this country and we have to be deeply committed to stopping it. Justice for #AhmaudArbery is justice for America.

Americans have a fundamental question to ask ourselves: Do we or do we not believe ours is to be a government “of the people, by the people, and for the people?” Right now it’s “of a few of the people, by a few of the people, and for a few of the people.” Only we can change that

Nurses all over America are asking for prayers for their protection. The CEO of one of our largest, most hard-hit hospitals asked me to say a prayer with her executive team of nurses. Just because you don’t believe in the power of prayer doesn’t mean it’s bullshit that others do.

A day of acknowledgment is too little praise for the nurses who are seeing us through this. I hope they feel our love, our gratitude and prayers for their protection. May those we lost - and those who grieve them - be blessed forever. #NationalNursesDay

This is unfortunate given that he has proved himself capable of extraordinary recklessness. We not only need a new president, we also need a Senate that would override this veto in a minute.
President Trump has vetoed the Iran War Powers resolution, a bipartisan effort to rein in presidential authority to use military force against Iran without congressional approval cnn.it/3bd0nQg

Important thread.
BREAKING: As a former health insurance exec, I know the health industry puts profits over the public, even in a crisis. But this is mind-boggling: Beaumont, the largest & wealthiest health system in Michigan, recently closed its hospital in Wayne, Michigan during #COVID19. (1/7)

The smartest thing @JoeBiden & Dems could do right now is to take a strong stand for #directcashrelief to individuals - for as long as it takes to get our lives and the economy back on their feet & with zero more given as corporate giveaways. Boldly. Clearly. A true alternative.

Corporatization of the Dem party isn't just a function of party operatives; it's just as much a function of the corporate media that partners with them. A political-media-industrial complex. But we shouldn't just abandon the party; I think we should hang around to be inconvenient
