No, a simple overview of history shows that Trump has the capacity to be a neo-fascist dictator.

We spend 50-60 cents of every $ on war-related activity even though infrastructure and education give us more return on the investment. That’s why they’re trying to put billions of dollars of aid to defense contractors into the next coronavirus bailout plan. Never even discussed.

Hope is a moral imperative. Cynicism is just an excuse for not helping. Snap out of it:)

When a species becomes maladaptive for its survival, it either mutates and evolves or it goes extinct. That’s what’s happening to us: our collective behavior is maladaptive for our survival. We fight too much & we’re destroying our own habitat. We’ll evolve or we will go extinct.

To be “truthful, unbiased and accurate,” in many ways we have been... but it’s a journey getting there. 14th Amendment, Women’s suffrage 1921, the Voting Rights Act 1965 - all hard won efforts at establishing it. Other generations didn’t owe us anything. Ours to do our part now.

Patterns of nature mimic themselves on all levels. Just like we give birth to a child we give birth to a better world. First we conceive an idea, then it gestates within us & then we give birth. Use this time to conceive a new world. What is it we imagine? What do we really want?

“We must challenge the idea that war is inevitable.”- Dennis Kucinich. When I first heard Dennis say that it changed everything for me. Imagine a generation that says to their children “Wars used to happen but they never happen anymore.” It’s either that or humanity won’t survive

No. It’s never been perfect, but at our best we have tried. It’s about every generation “creating a more perfect union”, not pretending that we’ve ever gotten there. But cynicism is just an excuse for not helping.

From an authoritarian agenda to unjust economic and criminal policies to manipulation by political parties to outright voter suppression, the undermining of democracy is in full swing even as we speak. Our generation is called to defend it no differently than others. And we will.

Our biggest challenges are staring down our resistance to change & our fear of doing what it will take to make sure change happens. Change will take activism, commitment & a dedication to new ideas that bring with them an end to our codependent relationship to the system as it is

We were skating on very thin ice when it came to pandemics. We are similarly skating on thin ice when it comes to nuclear war, which is why we need a Department of Peace. We are similarly skating on thin ice when it comes to climate change, which is why we need a Green New Deal.

The first thing we need to do is to defeat Donald Trump. After that, we need to reinvent American politics. We need a politics of conscience. A politics that reflects our deep humanity. A politics of love. barnesandnoble.com/w/a-polit…

It was a huge part of it, and no I do not think he would’ve voted for it. And he was not president remember, he was vice president. I’m not naïve about the Democrats - but there is no comparison to the corruption coming from the Republicans right now.

I had my own microcosm of what they did to Bernie, so no one has to convince me of how that works. But it’s still not a reason to vote for Trump, or to sit out the election. He’s too dangerous. First we have to defeat Trump - then we have to seriously wondrously shake things up.
