I said we would love each other thru it - not that love would cure it but that it would make the experience bearable. If meant support groups, feeding people, being with people when they died, officiating at funerals. If you think that’s bullshit, that’s about you & not about me.

I don’t disavow it. Before corona I didn’t have a problem with a sliding scale but I’ve made it clear that with the specter of the coronavirus with us for the rest of our lives, Medicare for All is the only responsible way forward.

I wonder what you think makes someone “fit to run a country.” Someone who has spent enough years within the system that ran it into the ground?

No. It’s time to think deeply about the things that could reasonably cause a person to riot, but then to be sophisticated in your analysis and transform the energy in a way that leads to more constructive action. Got that?:)

He’s not slightly less awful than Trump. He is 1000 times better than Trump; Trump is genuinely a menace to our democracy. I promise you I’ll be the first person to raise hell for a progressive vision once a Dem’s in office. But if we re-elect Trump we won’t even have a chance to

And that’s why we need to be very loud now, and not back down. This pandemic contextualizes Medicare for All in a whole new way. That’s true for me even; I wasn’t convinced before, but I realize that the specter of the virus will be with us for the rest of our lives & we need it.

That’s exactly my point! We must defeat Trump, and we will not do it if progressives don’t vote for him. We need to demonstrate actual respect for progressive values and that would mean first and foremost getting rid of the architect of the policy that shut them out.

The alternative to voting for the Democratic nominee is reelecting Donald Trump. To me that issue must come first.
