What I remember is that he is a president, not a king. Disagreeing with the president when we think the president is wrong isn’t divisive, it’s patriotic.

How did the French get in there?

They actually are wealthy. Their business interests work in tandem with workers, and their govts support that. They’re a mix of socialist and capitalist systems.

When enough people vote for change that fundamentally disrupts an unjust system, that IS a political revolution. Getting the British out of India WAS a non-violent revolution. The civil rights movement WAS a non-violent revolution. We don’t have to be so precious about the word.

Yep. And that’s what we have to change.

That’s why we need to get the money out of politics!

We need a non-violent, peaceful revolution - mounted at the ballot box - against a tyrannous political and economic system whereby the US government has been highjacked by corporate forces whose undue financial influence have turned it into a system of legalized bribery.

Why should we take abuse from a president that our ancestors wouldn't take from a king?

Every American should receive $1800 every month as long as this lasts. No American should be charged for healthcare costs. And no American should have to worry about rent or mortgage til this is over. THAT is a bailout. It's also how to save our lives and the election in November

To me the most enlightened society has elements of both capitalism & socialism. But at a moment like this - a moment of national emergency - I don’t think the profit motive should be anywhere near the bottom line. The president should have taken steps to immediately override.

I think it's a very good possibility.

The issue is regulations that were gutted and corporate money that’s been allowed to flood the system. We need to reinstate proper regulations and get the money out of politics.

But that would be a vote for Trump. That’s how we got here.

No one knows better than I how they do exactly what you said. But I also saw how easily people are duped. Also over the last couple of decades a lot of people who are screaming now were doing nothing to help the progressive movement. Trump getting a 2nd term would be catastrophic

No I'm not, and yes it is.

A human-centered, democratically controlled economy doesn't have to be socialist. Capitalism can be that too, if properly regulated and the money removed from politics. The most enlightened society has elements of both capitalism and socialism.

So yes, we must vote blue! But it has to be more than that. The "blue candidate" needs to know that just not being the other guy is not enough. We need to more than manage suffering. We need a fundamental challenge to the systemic injustices that made so much suffering inevitable

It's important that we see this because if we don't, the system will be like elastic: it will simply go back to its old way of functioning - or worse- when this is over. We need to demand a fundamental break from the social, economic and political trajectories of the last 40 yrs.
