Difficult to face but at the same time important that we do: the system wasn't set up to take care of people when this happened because it wasn't set up to take care of people BEFORE this happened. For years it's existed mainly to protect & take care of only sector of our society

Care for our nervous systems at this time is as important as care for our bodies. Meditation, prayer, mindfulness & forgiveness are core ingredients of an integrative approach to health & healing. They boost the immune system, calm the nerves & give us peace in the midst of chaos

Sometimes you need a different kind of intel: human conscience. Absolutely we should lift at least some of the sanctions....definitely those imposed as “maximum pressure” after we left the Iran deal. This is an example of the heartlessness that has corrupted us.
.@JoeBiden tells @chucktodd he doesn’t have the information (he means access to intel) to make the judgment whether US should lift sanctions on Iran because of coronavirus. Medicine & food permitted but experts say suppliers afraid to send because of US sanctions @MeetThePress

All over the world, people are preparing to pause one hour from now. Five minutes of silence/prayer/meditation. Noon NYC, 6pm in Rome. A clearing in consciousness, a chance for resonance in the field, a prayer for a miracle, a chance for love to cast out fear. Spread the word.

I recommend “The Fifth Risk” by Michael Lewis.

Yes and yes and then yes again.
The money should have gone directly to the people until this crisis ends.

Google translation: “Five minutes of silence and send a peace intention to the world. 7 PM Jeddah time.” (Wow)

For years we’ve been whittling away at public investments in things that provide public safety. Creating short term corporate profit superseded long term protection of the common good; public safety has been sacrificed at the altar of corporate gain. This will stop if we stop it.

This is the coming-of-age event no one saw coming. It’ll be hard to retain a politically immature perspective after this, to assume we’re protected from any manner of other disastrous possibilities either. From nuclear safety to environmental safety it’s time for a whole new way.

Don’t be overly concerned by the concept of the majority; the majority never drives history. History always driven by a small group of people usually considered outrageous radicals by the status quo of their time. Abolitionists, women suffragettes, civil rights. Just keep going.

Yes, among other things.

Our society is so addictively adrenaline driven that personally and politically we tend to be guided more by reaction than by reflection. This global pause is forcing us to take the time to reflect, to think things through, and hopefully gain some wisdom.
