What we need is a mass awakening, and this just might give us one. We need to awaken to our moral responsibility - to each other, to animals, and to the planet itself. Everything we do - individually & collectively, personally & politically - should be guided by that awakening.
Why is the president meeting with captains of industry to ask what they need in order to get through this, but not meeting with average American workers to find out what they need? The paternalism and elitism that got us into this ditch is not what will get us out of it.

I’m not anti-capitalist; it has done a lot of good for the world. But unbridled capitalism, untethered to ethical considerations, has done great damage too. It helped create the problem and it is not the answer now. This isn’t about profit for anyone; it’s only about saving lives
