There’s a story about a Buddhist monk who was crying over his master’s grave. Someone came up to him and said, “But I thought you were enlightened! So why are you crying?” Responded the monk, “Because I am sad.”
This is what I recommend: Admit to yourself that this is a sad night, just allow yourself to be really sad, and then try to get enough sleep. Tomorrow you’ll need all your strength to get up and do whatever you need to do to go forward and kick ass for your country.
I absolutely did not dismiss black voters. The issue of black voters didn’t even come up. I made it clear that I respect all voters, actually. I said very specifically that my problem was with the DNC, not the voters. And I’ve been talking the same racial issues for over 20 years
Here’s what Congress must do to stop the spread of the coronavirus:
✅ $15 billion in emergency funding to help get tests out as quickly as possible
✅ Extending Medicare coverage to all for primary care and emergency visits
✅ Guarantee paid sick leave for workers
The problem isn’t that people can create wealth; the problem is that not ENOUGH people can create wealth now due to economic circumstances that keep them limited to survival mode. An honorable person doesn’t want to create wealth at the expense of other people having a chance to.
Not all capitalism does that. It is as unbalanced to demonize all capitalism as it is unbalanced to demonize all socialism. We have become way too sloppy with this conversation.
