I didn’t say it was. I said what happened the night before was. Big difference. Even then, a poor choice of words and I deleted the tweet, restated my point.

The 2Oth Century worldview was more mechanistic; 21st Century more holistic. In order to change our lives or our country, we have to address internal as well as external issues. A real path forward lies with an integrative notion of political change.

Heartbreaking and infuriating. Let none of us be silent. If ever there was a time to make a stand for the goodness of America, the tolerance of America and the inclusivity of America, it’s now.
Every elected official & every media outlet should be condemning the white nationalist who unfurled a Nazi flag at a @BernieSanders rally last night. This is what white nationalism & antisemitism look like. This is what happens when it is enabled and emboldened. Speak up. Now.

Healing, whether of a nation or an individual, is not about pouring pink paint over the wound and pretending it doesn’t exist. It means naming things, bringing them to the surface to be consciously released. It’s done consciously & wisely, or happens subconsciously & chaotically.

Nothing is as confrontive to the patriarchy as enough women who believe in themselves. The next step is for enough of us to believe in each other. Sisterhood happens when we stop projecting our internalized sense of inferiority onto others.

I’m not talking about whether or not we support people politically. That’s in the realm of honorable debate. I’m talking about whether or not we demonize other women, judge them unfairly etc - particularly in ways we would not do to men.

A lot of misogyny is unconscious. Some of the most vicious misogeny is from women towards other women. One insidious form of it is “selective feminism” - a theoretical support of other women that really only applies to women that we like.

A Constitutional amendment could abolish slavery but it couldn’t abolish racism. A Constitutional amendment could give women the right to vote but it couldn’t abolish misogyny. Symptoms can be legally remedied but their roots must be addressed at a deeper level: within ourselves.

Spoiler. I dropped out of the race many weeks ago. That might’ve had something to do with it.

It’s so odd being hated for being someone that you’re not. Not a word of any of that is true.

I’m all on board for this. These kids should have their needs met, and all of us should stand up for them...

Washington knelt and prayed at Valley Forge. Today it’s very easy for progressives to feel completely checkmated. I agree with Washington; I suggest we pray for a miracle. We need some unpredictable breakthroughs now. For those who pray, let’s pray today.

Excuse me...? Slapping that label on anyone who suggests greater oversight and monitoring of Big Pharma is slanderous. And given the opioid crisis and what we now know about their predatory practices, buying into it is naive and irresponsible.
