If someone is attacking Elizabeth for attacking Bernie, they’re no different than she is! It’s totally unnecessary. We need to keep the energy high or our own negativity will defeat us before Trump even gets a chance to.

On the eve of this big week, let’s pause & remember: @BernieSanders, @JoeBiden, @ewarren etc are all good people. They’re part of the most grueling experience imaginable. We can disagree but still appreciate their humanity, refuse to personally demonize, and exercise compassion.

We’ve always been both. Dec of Ind was signed by 56 men thus establishing the most enlightened & aspirational principles ever to form the founding of a nation. At the same time, 41 of them were slave owners. That totally dichotomous nature is at the core of the American character

Absolutely the Viet Nam war was deplorable. At the same time, LBJ’s domestic agenda was very much the traditional soul of the Democratic Party. One of the tragic ironies of history.

During 1990s the Democratic party started playing the same corporate game the Repub party was playing; so much money was flowing into the political system at that time that it felt it had to. Clinton formed Democratic Leadership Council. Good intentions perhaps but a bad result.

Dem & Repub parties form an unholy alliance making it very difficult for Independents to make a serious run either for Congress or WH. That’s why George Washington warned us against political parties in his farewell address. Their near-monopoly of the political process is wrong.

The irony is that the Sanders revolution, not a corporatized Democratic elite, IS a return to the soul of the Democratic Party. I’m old enough to remember when it had one so I know.

I said NOTHING about absolute power. Last time I checked, the president gets to appoint cabinet members - approved by Congress, of course. That’s still a lot of power vested in the president - even one who doesn’t overreach and abuse, as does this one.
